Japanese government donates US$98, 000 toward rehabilitation efforts

Friday 12 November 2010  Following the devastating impact of Hurricane Tomas, the Ministry of External Affairs, International Trade and Investment contacted a number of countries, informing of the situation in the aftermath of the hurricane, and the Government’s relief and recovery efforts.

 

To date, a number of friendly governments have provided emergency relief assistance and in this respect, the Government of Japan has decided to provide the following emergency relief materials amounting to ninety eight thousand United States dollars (US$98,000) towards the victims of Hurricane Tomas:

 

Ø     Generators

Ø     Electric cord reel

Ø     Flexible water tanks

Ø     Water Purifiers

Ø     Plastic sheets

 

The handing over ceremony  will take place today at 3:30 p.m. at the National Development Corporation (NDC) warehouse at Union.
