Tuesday 9 November 2010  The Government of Saint Lucia continues to institute measures designed to encourage and facilitate recovery efforts by the private sector and the wider society. Towards that end Cabinet has taken the decision to grant duty free concessions including service charge on the importation of all supplies and materials related to the disaster relief effort.

In addition Government has decided to grant duty free concessions for special items such as water tanks, water purification systems and lumber that is determined to be linked to the recovery process.

 

Concessions commenced effective November 1, 2010 until January 31, 2011.

 

All importation of items under this provision must be approved by the Office of the Prime Minister.
