Monday, September 27, 2010 –  The Government of Saint Lucia has expressed sadness at the passing of the Right Honourable Sir Vincent Flossaic, who died on Saturday 25th September, 2010.  Sir Vincent served as Acting Governor General of St. Lucia during the period 1987 to 1988.  He also served as former Chief Justice and President of the Court of Appeal of the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court.

Acting Prime Minister Hon. Ezechiel Joseph, says Sir Vincent was one of St. Lucia’s illustrious and distinguished sons.

“His long and distinguished career in the field of law included a stint as a member of

the Seycheles Court of appeal between 1988 to 1991.  He served as the president of the Saint Lucia Bar Association for a number of years. From 1992 he also served on the Judicial Committee of her Majesty Privy Council.

Mr. Joseph says in keeping with established practice, the Government of Saint Lucia in consultation with the family will announce funeral arrangements for the late Sir Vincent Flossaic at a later date.
