Tuesday 21 December 2010  On December 17, 2010, at 11:30 a.m. Mr. Benjamin Weng, President of Care 2 Help Charitable Association (CHCA), donated 1,540 toys to Hon. Stephenson King, Prime Minister, at Prime Minister’s official residence in Vigie. More than 50 people attended the donation ceremony, including H.E. Ambassador Tom Chou, Minister Guy Joseph, Minister Arsene James, Minister Edmund Estephane, Minister Rufus Bousquet, Ms. Terencia Gaillard, director of Red Cross in St. Lucia, students from infant school, and media reporters.

H.E. Ambassador Tom Chou expressed his appreciation to Mr. Benjamin Weng of CHCA for the toy donation this year. In fact, Benjamin has made similar donation to this country since 2007. Moreover, because of Hurricane Tomas, CHCA also donated 300 blankets and 44 cases of instant noodles to Castries South East on December 14, 2010. Chou said, the donation will no doubt generate warm Xmas atmosphere to that community.

Prime Minister Stephenson King conveyed his gratitude to Mr. Benjamin Weng and his team for their commitment and dedication to this annual charity event of toy donation to the under-privileged children in Saint Lucia. He hoped that CHCA could schedule this function as a routine work in its calendar.

CHCA is a well known NGO in NJ, USA. Donors of this charity organization come mainly from Taiwanese American community in NJ and NY. Its goal is to help less fortunate people to improve their social and economic conditions. In the past three years, CHCA extended its helping hands to countries in Asia, Africa, Latin America, and the Caribbean. The assistance focuses mainly on housing, education and disaster relief.
