Thursday, April 8, 2009 The St. Lucia Under nineteen Cricket Team has recorded after a tremendous victory in the Windward Island under 19 Cricket Tournament in St. Vincent and the Grenadines. Sports Minister Hon. Lenard Spider Montoute congratulated the victorious team during a short ceremony on Thursday upon their arrival at the George Charles Airport. The team won both the limited overs and two-day tournament.

“This is a record. It’s no mean feat in the sense that the last time we achieved a victory at the Windward Islands under-19 tournament was in 1987. For you to have won both the two-day and limited overs competition this year, is a remarkable accomplishment.”

Minister Montoute says the victory has not only brought pride to the nation but hope for sports.

Saint Lucia team was led by Audy Alexander who has been selected to captain the Windward Islands under-19 team.
