Friday,  December 11, 2009  The Senate of Saint Lucia is scheduled to meet on Tuesday, December 15, 2009 with Papers to be laid and Bills to be presented by the Honourable Attorney General, Minister for Justice and Leader of Government Business, Minister for Tourism and Civil Aviation, and the Minister for Commerce, Industry and Consumer Affairs.

 

Two Motions are down for consideration:

 

1.      To authorize the Minister for Finance to borrow by means of advances, sums not exceeding five million dollars from commercial banks, which sums should be charged upon and paid out of the Consolidated Fund

 

2.      To authorize the Minister of Finance to guarantee loans of three amounts totalling two million, five hundred thousand dollars toward the repayment of a Loan obtained from the Bank of Saint Lucia by the Saint Lucia Coconut Growers Association for the purpose of consolidating debts, purchasing two expellers, purchasing raw materials, paying creditors, and for capital expenditure and working capital.

Tuesday’s Sitting is scheduled to commence at 10:00 a.m.
