Monday, November 3, 2008 – The Minister for Social Transformation, Youth & Sports has been lavish in his praise for the performance of St. Lucia’s Darren Sammy and his decisive role in determining the outcome of the highly anticipated Stanford 20/20 for 20 cricket match played at the Stanford Cricket Ground at Coolidge, Antigua.

The Stanford Superstars earned an emphatic 10-wicket victory over the English Team, and the mammoth prize of twenty million U.S. Dollars.

Darren Sammy was adjudged man of the match by, former West Indies captain Vivian Richards, after he ripped through the core of the English middle order.

Sammy captured the prized wickets of Kevin Peterson and Owais Shah and held a spectacular catch in the deep.

Cricket Commentators considered these two batsmen the key to achievement of victory by England.

Meanwhile, congratulations from various sources continue to pour into the Ministry of Social Transformation on the historic victory of the Superstars and the outstanding performance by local superstar Darren Sammy.
