Thursday, 13 March 2008 –  Recognising the role of prayer in the spiritual development of the nation, Prime Minister Honourable Stephenson King is calling on the entire nation to “Stop   Pray and Fast.”  The day -  Monday March 17th at 6:am, has as the theme “If My People Pray.” The objective of the event is to foster united prayer on behalf of the nation.

 

The day’s event will be coordinated  by the Government Information Service GIS through the National Television Network NTN.  In addition to prayers of intercession by various religious leaders, NTN will throughout the day broadcast appropriate programmes.

 

The following table gives the specific times for the intercessory prayers.

 

 

PASTORS WHO WILL SAY PRAYERS ON BEHALF OF THE NATION:

5 Leroy Solomon Fundamental Baptist Church Cabinet of Ministers 12:00 p.m.
6 Pastor Marie Pierre Church of God of Prophecy Crime 12:00 p.m.
7 Rev.  Cato Methodist Church Substance Abuse 3:00 p.m.
8 Pastor Sherwin Griffith Wesleyan Holiness Social Institutions 3:00 p.m.

The entire nation will be asked to tune-in at the specific times during which the intercessory prayers will be offered.  Churches/halls of assembly should be kept open during the day and to coordinate and implement united prayer on behalf of our nation.
