Contact: Office of the Prime Minister

Tuesday, June 5, 2007 – The Cabinet of Ministers is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Mr. Rodney Antoine Jn Baptiste, former Member of Parliament for the Micoud North Constituency. Mr. Jn Baptiste served as the Member of Parliament for Micoud North during the period May 1974 to May 1982.
Mr. Jn Baptiste’s tenure as a representative can best be summarised as one of quiet effectiveness, sincerity, honesty, integrity and humility. Never one for the limelight, he preferred to work among his people, quietly listening to and addressing their various needs and concerns. He exercised a great degree of patience as a Member of Parliament and was always available to his constituents. His was truly an example of selfless and dedicated service to community and country, worthy of emulation.

The Prime Minister, the Cabinet of Ministers and the entire Government of Saint Lucia, extend sincere condolences to the Jn. Baptiste family.

The official funeral of the late Rodney Antoine Jn Baptiste is scheduled to take place at the St. Lucy’s Church in Micoud on Wednesday June 06, 2007 at 3:30 p.m.
