Thursday, February 10, 2005 – The National Ecumenical Service to observe Saint Lucia’s anniversary of Independence is scheduled to be held at the Minor Basilica of the Immaculate Conception on Friday February 18th at 3p.m. The Ecumenical Service is one of several activities to mark the island’s twenty-sixth Independence anniversary, on February 22nd

The Ministry of Social Transformation, Culture and Local Government which is organising the Ecumenical Service, says it is expected to be a spiritual revival featuring a mass choir made up of the members of different choral groups on the island.

This year for the 26th Anniversary of Independence the Ecumenical Service is dedicated to thanking God for spearing the country from the ravages of natural disasters, for peace and for continued political calm as the island’s democracy comes of age.
