Friday, July 30, 2004 – The National Television Network – NTN – in keeping with its mandate to inform and educate the nation about its heritage, has a planned programme for August 1st - Emancipation Day.

The programme, according to NTN’s manager Lucius Doxerie, begins with an address commemorating Emancipation Day by Minister for Social Transformation, Local Government, Culture and Ecclesiastical Affairs, Hon. Menissa Rambally. The address will be followed by the playing of features, documentaries and discussions relevant to Emancipation.

On NTN’s menu for the day includes a panel discussion, which will be broadcast for the first time at 11: 45 a.m., featuring panellists Cuthbert Didier, Boots Samuel, Travis Weekes and Shazi Chalon.

Among the other exciting productions are a documentary by Che Rodrigues entitled “Haitian Paintings – The Land, The People, The History”, and a production reflecting on the African Influences on St. Lucia’s Culture.

NTN’s special programme in observance of Emancipation Day, 2004 begins at 9 a.m.
