Friday, August 29, 2003 - The Prime Minister of St. Lucia Dr. Kenny D. Anthony has, on behalf of the government and people of St. Lucia, expressed condolences to the family of the late Lady Beryl Mallet.

Lady Mallet, wife of former minister and Governor General Sir George Mallet passed away on Wednesday August 27, 2003. Lady Mallet was a woman of quiet demeanor but unselfish and hardworking. She will be remembered for her extensive assistance to charitable causes and her commitment to uplifting the conditions of the poor and senior citizens. She was a close associate of the Benedictine Monastery.

She will sadly be missed by senior citizens particularly those at institutions whom she visited regularly.

Condolences go out to her family, her widower Sir. George Mallet who served St. Lucia for over forty years at the highest levels of government, and Juliet Mallet daughter who served the government of St. Lucia at home and abroad.

The Prime Minister learned of the death of Lady Mallet while overseas on government business.
