Wednesday, January 16, 2002 – The St. Lucia National Commission for UNESCO is continuing to place peace high on its agenda in keeping with the United Nations declaration of 2001-2010 as the “International Decade for Peace”. Secretary General of the St. Lucia National Commission for UNESCO Mrs. Paule Turmel-John says the Commission will continue to advocate and support peace initiatives.

She added that the public should look forward to several local activities this year among them a public speaking debate and a music festival, as part of the Commission’s effort to highlight the need for peace.
