Thursday, February 15, 2001 - The Ministry of Education is collaborating with sporting organizations to assist in the provision of school supplies to students. Earlier this week, the W Connection Football Club of Trinidad and Tobago made a presentation of 2500 exercise books to the Minister of Education, Human Resource Development, Youth and Sports, Honourable Mario Michel.

The exercise books will be distributed throughout the island’s eight education districts. District officers, upon assessment of schools, will recommend to the Ministry of Education the sub-division of the donation to those students most in need. Education officials believe that this would make for the most effective use of the donation.

W Connection Football Club has a strong St. Lucian presence, featuring eight members and club coach Stewart Charles Fevrier. The club plans to strengthen its ties with the island notably through continued training of young footballers.
