Yellow Passion Margarine
New Yellow Passion Margarine on display

Wednesday, December 05, 2001 - The Saint Lucia Coconut Growers Association Limited is set to put a new product on the market shortly.  Yellow Passion Table Margarine, as it is called, was developed as a “bread spread” to replace the non-refrigerated Gloria Table Margarine.

General Manager of the Association Kenneth Cazabon says sales of the Gloria margarine had not done as expected and it appeared that there was a preference for the refrigerated margarine in the marketplace.

“…So what we have done is to move away from a non refrigerated margarine to a table margarine to compete with … the margarines from Barbados and Trinidad,” he added.

Cazabon describes the new Yellow Passion Table Margarine as of superior quality, compared to what is now on the market.

“It has been tested and the results and response so far has been excellent.  I can guarantee you that the quality is up to international standards.”

He expects that all the stores and supermarkets and other shops on the island should have the new product on sale soon.
