Tuesday, May 01, 2001 - St. Lucians will get the opportunity to learn more about the Korean culture when a major exhibition gets under way from May 7th to 15th 2001. The activity is the collaborative effort of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Trade and the Ministry of Community Development, Culture, Local Government and Cooperatives, on the invitation of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.

According to event coordinator, Cedric George, Cultural Arts Officer in the Department of Culture, the exhibition should prove educational as most St. Lucians are unaware of or do not fully understand Korean and Asian art in general. Students stand to benefit considerably as the exhibition can foster further discussion in the classroom.

The eight-day cultural exhibition will take place at the Alliance Francaise, Pointe Seraphine. An official opening ceremony is scheduled for May 7th and the exhibition opens to the public from May 8th 2001.
