Fond D'Or Features Folk Festival Second Time Around

Tuesday, November 27, 2001 - Plans for the upcoming Folk Festival to be staged at Fond D’Or in the Mabouya Valley are progressing smoothly.

According to Community Liaison Officer with the Mabouya Valley Development Project, Evestus Augustine the objectives of the event, scheduled for December 13, 2001 are to showcase the talents of the residents of the valley and environs and to offer people from the Dennery basin the opportunity to benefit economically from the activity, as the proceeds will go to them.

“We are also hoping that the Fond D’Or Nature Historical Park will be featured as the site for the hosting of major cultural activities of significance and would become the highlight of the park as time evolves, ” added Augustine.

The theme for this year’s event is “Promoting A Family Day of Cultural Activities”. The inaugural event held last year was a resounding success.
