National Youth Policy Consultation Adds New Dimension to Consultation Process

The Ministry of Education, Human Resource Development, Youth and Sports and the National Youth Council, continue their "block raps" sessions in various communities around the island as part of their youth policy formulation process. The block raps are a novel approach to public consultation as it involves youth officers and NYC meeting young people at the blocks where they congregate.

The Department of Youth and Sports believes that in addition to inviting youth to community meetings, it is very effective to meet them in their settings.

The Department of Youth and Sports, and NYC report that skills training and the provision of sporting and recreational facilities remain the request from youth in various communities.
