Club Aqurius to Open Year Round

September 25, 1998 - Club Aquarius will now operate year-round. So says Prime Minister and Parliamentary Representative for Vieux Fort South, Honourable Dr. Kenny D. Anthony. The Prime Minister was given that assurance on Wednesday when he toured the hotel to examine the renovations currently taking place there. The hotel is being refurbished at a cost of 11 million dollars and a completion date has been set for the end of October.

The Prime Minister says he is delighted at the extent of the renovations being made to the hotel, and he has been advised that upon completion of the work, the hotel will open for year-round business. Previously, Club Aquarius operated on a seasonal basis, usually from October to April.

Dr. Anthony welcomes the hotel’s new schedule. He says he is particularly pleased for the employees of the hotel who will now have full time employment, throughout the year. This, the Prime Minister notes, will provide additional impetus to the economic development in the south of the island.

Prime Minister Anthony also expressed government’s satisfaction with the efforts the hotel industry has put into refurbishment and development of the island’s hotel stock and he expects the positive spin off will be felt in the tourism industry and the economy in the coming months.
